Palina Rubina joins Thrilld Labs as a Growth Associate Trainee
We are thrilld that Palina Rubina has recently joined Thrilld Labs as a Growth Associate Trainee. Our Traineeship Program offers a unique opportunity for students and young professionals to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of Web3 technology. We checked in with Palina—an aspiring data analyst with a business twist—to see how the Program is going so far.
At Thrilld Labs, we designed our Traineeship Program with a mission to develop the next wave of global Web3 leaders and Web3-savvy professionals who will shape our innovation and teams in the future. By offering special mentorship and hands-on practical experience, we aim to create an innovation-driven, global, and diverse environment within our company.
Palina Rubina is currently participating in Thrilld Labs' Traineeship Program as a Growth Associate Trainee.
Palina joined Thrilld Labs as a Trainee during the Spring 2024 term. She is currently working towards completing her Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus on Data Analysis and a minor in AI at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea.
Alongside her studies, Palina is a community volunteer at a multinational family center, where she leads language and culture lessons for children. Palina speaks English, Russian and Korean.
Palina, a Samsung Global Hope Scholarship recipient, is interested in many things and is passionate about trying them all. Career-wise, the process of transcribing complex systems into numbers and then manipulating those numbers to get meaningful insights is what she thrilld about.
We checked in with Palina to see how her traineeship experience has been and why she took up the role as a Growth Associate Trainee. Read about her experience.
What motivated you to join Thrilld Labs?
I was motivated to join Thrilld Labs because I am passionate about the innovative potential of Web3 technology and am eager to apply my skills in this rapidly evolving field. As I approach graduation, I was actively seeking an internship that aligns with my career goals.
My journey began with the International Business Initiative (IBI) in Seoul, where I attended a workshop led by Assel. Her insights on networking and the mention of Thrilld Labs' Traineeship Program piqued my interest. After speaking with Alexandra and learning more about Thrilld Labs, I was inspired by her vision and values, which strongly resonate with me.
I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to Thrilld Labs' mission and be part of a forward-thinking team.
What’s one thing you’re learning now or learned recently?
One thing I am actively learning now is how to be more proactive and effective in networking. This involves taking the initiative to seek out opportunities, connect with industry professionals, and engage in meaningful conversations. I have been participating in various workshops in IBI that focus on developing these skills. For example, I attended a networking workshop where I learned practical strategies for approaching and engaging with potential mentors and collaborators.
I am also practicing how to follow up and maintain these connections, which is crucial for building a strong professional network. While I am making progress, I still find it very challenging to step out of my comfort zone and initiate these interactions. Hopefully, I will get better soon.
How do you see the future of business in Web3?
I believe the future of business in Web3 holds tremendous potential across various industries. Blockchain technology, a fundamental aspect of Web3, is already being integrated by major corporations to enhance their operations. For instance, Amazon utilizes blockchain in its AWS services to manage supply chains more efficiently and securely. This illustrates just a fraction of the transformative impact Web3 can have on traditional business models.
The potential of Web3 extends far beyond supply chain management. It promises to revolutionize sectors such as finance, healthcare, real estate, and more by providing greater transparency, security, and decentralization. One particularly exciting area is the gaming industry. Web3 technologies can create decentralized gaming platforms where players have true ownership of in-game assets, facilitated through NFTs (non-fungible tokens). This can lead to new economic models within games, where players can earn real value and developers can innovate without the constraints of traditional centralized systems.
