Thrilld Labs Partners with Cryptoverse Summit 2025

We are thrilld to announce a media partnership with the Cryptoverse Summit happening this May 7 in Mauritius at the intercontinental Hotel in Baloclava. The event returns once again this year, bringing together blockchain and cryptocurrency professionals to tip their toes into the sand as well as in-depth discussions on Web3, decentralized finance (DeFi), tokenization, and regulatory developments spanning Africa, the Middle East, Asia, and Europe.

The Cryptoverse Summit is the only crypto/blockchain focused event in Mauritius and is a part of the Cryptoverse Week, running from May 5 to May 9. The aim is to position Mauritius as the key entry point for global crypto businesses into the Indian Ocean regions, emphasizing its regulatory framework ánd innovation-friendly environment.

The first Cryptoverse Summit was organized by Wakanda 4.0 and took place in Mauritius in 2022. Since then, the event has been organized annually with now its fourth edition coming once again this May 2025! Uniquely, the Cryptoverse Summit incorporates a hybrid option of online and offline tickets. In this way, they also promote the theme of inclusion and gather a diverse audience from more than forty countries worldwide with more accessible options. They welcome, “professionals already working in the industry but also those who are passionate and want to discover more about this buzzing industry”.

As part of the schedule, the Cryptoverse Summit brings attendees:

• keynote addresses, interactive panel discussions, and immersive Web3 experiences, exploring NFTs, the metaverse, and digital identity transformations;
• discussions on the latest trends shaping DeFI;
• networking opportunities through direct engagement with venture capitalists, institutional investors and blockchain entrepreneurs;
• sessions with legal and policy experts on crypto licensing and regulatory trends.

There will also be a networking zone for startups, investors, regulators, and global VASPs to connect, exchange ideas, hereby ultimately growing a collaborative community. And don’t forget, a key initiative is “Crypto on the Beach,” an evening on the stunning Sugar Island between where the convos can continue over cocktails. Attendees can unwind, and connect with others while “basking in the sun and embracing the island’s tropical vibes,” and so, “investors, regulators and entrepreneurs can forge new partnerships in a relaxed beachfront setting”. Sounds nice right?

Mauritius is an island country in the Indian Ocean, east of Madagascar. It has a variety of land and ocean landscapes – beaches, waterfalls, lagoons, and mountain views – as well as a growing Web3 landscape… Indeed, according to the 2024 report Global Startup Ecosystem Index by Startup Blink, Mauritius is the 2nd highest ranked country in Africa and 59th globally “thanks to its well-developed physical infrastructure and innovative schemes” (Economic Development Board Mauritius). This strengthening global business sector is supported by the use of virtual assets and the rise of webinars and discussions on the Web3 business landscape in Mauritius, arguably an indicator of its growing influence. Mathias Ruch, Founder and CEO of Crypto Valley Venture Capital (CV VC), a Swiss investment company, commented after a visit to the Africa FinTech Festival which took place in Mauritius in October of 2021, “we believe that Mauritius has great potential to develop a hub for VC investments in Africa, and it has been very interesting for us to hear how the ecosystem is developing here,” and “I see real potential for Mauritius as a gateway for investments to the African continent” (CV VC).

Mauritius is positioned as a virtual asset friendly jurisdiction. To this end, the summit “provides visibility to Virtual Assets and Blockchain projects in Mauritius & Africa, including clarity on the legal framework for Virtual Assets and Virtual Assets Service Providers (VASPs) in Mauritius” (Wakanda 4.0). The event organizers explain that to “strengthen its position as a bridge between global markets,” then, discussions will highlight the regulatory framework, security concerns, and the integration of blockchain in financial systems worldwide.
