Sofi Nafikova joins Thrilld Labs as a Next.js & Web3 Trainee
We are thrilld to share that Sofi Nafikova, a Computer Science Engineering and Global Studies student at Pusan National University, has joined Thrilld Labs as a Next.js & Web3 Trainee. With a strong interest in ML and software engineering, Sofi brings many fresh ideas to our development team. We checked in with Sofi to see how the Traineeship is going so far.
At Thrilld Labs, we designed our Traineeship Program with a mission to develop the next wave of global Web3 leaders and Web3-savvy professionals who will shape our innovation and teams in the future. By offering special mentorship and hands-on developer experience, we aim to create an innovation-driven, global, and diverse environment within our company.
Sofi Nafikova is currently participating in Thrilld Labs' Traineeship Program as a Next.js & Web3 Developer Trainee whilst pursuing a dual degree in Computer Science Engineering and Global Studies at Pusan National University in Busan, South Korea. With a focus on machine learning and software engineering, Sofi is clearly passionate about building state-of-the-art tech.
Alongside her studies, Sofi takes on leadership roles such as being a Notion Campus Leader, where she organizes hackathons and events to spur collaboration. Additionally, she runs an Instagram account, where she shares valuable insights and advice on Computer Science, helping to inspire and guide others in the field.
We sat down with Sofi to discuss her motivation for joining Thrilld Labs, her interests in Web3 technologies, and her goals for the Traineeship.
What motivated you to join Thrilld Labs?
What excites me most is the company's culture of innovation. Thrilld Labs doesn’t just have ideas—they take action, as seen in its active participation in conferences and events. I’m passionate about creating new technologies and solutions.
Thrilld Labs values directness and transparency in connecting people and organizations, reflecting Web3's spirit of openness. I believe clear communication is key to successful collaboration, and Thrilld Labs embodies this value. I’m especially happy to have joined the Dev Team, where I have the opportunity to implement innovative features like ML that will benefit both the company and its customers.
Special thanks to Assel Altayeva, who introduced me to this ambitious startup and inspired me to learn more about it. Her encouragement gave me the initial motivation to explore Thrilld Labs, ultimately leading to my decision to join the team.
What do you hope to learn through this Traineeship?
I hope to gain experience in development and contribute to creating high-impact projects that require strategic planning and execution. Additionally, I want to develop my teamwork, management, and real-world problem-solving skills through this traineeship. I'm also enthusiastic about understanding Web3 technologies, exploring the value they offer, and learning how to effectively implement them.
What technical or fundamental aspects do you find most intriguing about Web3?
I am intrigued by blockchain technology and oracles. Blockchains transform how data is managed by decentralizing processes, which is a new approach to data integrity. It’s interesting to see it grow and impact industries. Oracles are a concept regarding real-world data and its integration into smart contracts. It’s interesting how accurate and reliable this integration will be.
Another aspect is ownership and control being passed to individuals, because again it’s something that has not been practiced much. I’m curious to see how this transition will play out and influence the way we interact with technology and manage assets.
How do you see Web3 evolving in the future, especially from a technology perspective?
For Web3 to reach mass adoption, it will need improvements in performance, particularly in efficiency and scalability. As it stands, addressing these challenges is crucial for broader public use.
Integrating AI into Web3 is a good idea, especially within decentralized autonomous organizations. AI can enhance these systems by analyzing data, identifying trends, and predicting outcomes. This capability would improve decision-making, optimize resource allocation, and automate many processes, making Web3 systems more efficient and responsive.
