Kendall Brown joins Thrilld Labs as a Business Development & Digital Content Trainee
We are thrilld that Kendall Brown has recently joined Thrilld Labs as a Business Development & Digital Content Trainee. Our Traineeship Program offers a unique opportunity for students and young professionals to immerse themselves in the dynamic world of Web3 technology. We checked in with Kendall - who is currently working towards completing her undergraduate degree in Economics and Asian Studies at Yonsei University in Seoul, South Korea - to see how the Program is so far.
At Thrilld Labs, we designed our Traineeship Program with a mission to develop the next wave of global Web3 leaders and Web3-savvy professionals who will shape our innovation and teams in the future. By offering special mentorship and hands-on practical experience, we aim to create an innovation-driven, global, and diverse environment within our company.
Kendall Brown is currently participating in Thrilld Labs' Traineeship Program as a Business Development & Digital Content Trainee.
Kendall joined Thrilld Labs as a Trainee during the Spring 2024 term. She is currently working towards completing her undergraduate degree in Economics and Asian Studies at Yonsei University’s Underwood International College (UIC) in Seoul, South Korea.
Alongside her studies, Kendall is on the executive board of the International Business Initiation (IBI) as the Chief Events & Logistics Officer, a business organization and student club dedicated to enhancing the career prospects of young professionals in South Korea.
Passionate about education and creating a positive economic and social impact on the world, Kendall has also participated in the UIC sponsored programs the Global Career Tour in Singapore and the Global LearnUs Semester to Tokyo, Japan.
We checked in with Kendall to see how her traineeship experience has been and why she took up the role as a Business Development and Digital Content Trainee. Read about Kendall’s experience.
What motivated you to join Thrilld Labs?
I was motivated to join Thrilld Labs because it offered the opportunity to be involved with a community passionate not only about Web3, but also a genuine dedication to teaching and learning from one another, valuing the diversity of the group and its experiences.
I am thrilled to grow with this community and contribute to a vision with people at the heart of it. Thrilld Labs has been supportive in every step of the way and I am very grateful to Alexandra Overgaag, the founder and CEO of Thrilld Labs, for taking the time to meet with me every week and patiently answering all of my questions!
What’s one thing you’re learning now or learned recently?
I am learning a lot about how Web3, blockchains, and cryptocurrencies are used, the different perspectives and aspects shaping these technologies. I have recently learned more about utility tokens and their purpose within a platform or company.
These digital features offer an opportunity for users to engage with the platform with no intermediaries. It then becomes an important part of growing the value and credibility of a company and opens up new features and services to the user. One of the first things you learn in Economics is it’s all about incentives!
How do you see the future of business in Web3?
I see Web3 as providing a platform that empowers the individual, creating an alternative avenue for social and economic participation.
However, while the Web3 space rests on the values of removing a participation barrier, the technological knowledge and skills could potentially undermine these ethos. Thus, how different actors navigate and utilize these technologies will be important in defining and solidifying the trajectory and purpose of the Web3 ecosystem.
How do you see Web3 evolve in the future?
While still at its early stages, I am intrigued to see how Web3 can be used as an alternative to existing power structures and provide new opportunities for disadvantaged communities.
As an Economics and Asian Studies major, I am interested in labor markets and social and economic opportunities across society, so I am learning a lot about how Web3, blockchains, and cryptocurrencies can provide new solutions and alternatives for broader social participation.
