At Thrilld Labs, we designed our Traineeship Program with a mission to develop the next wave of global Web3 leaders and Web3-savvy professionals who will shape our innovation and teams in the future. By offering special mentorship and hands-on developer experience, we aim to create an innovation-driven, global, and diverse environment within our company.
Celeste Jingya Yuan is currently participating in Thrilld Labs' Traineeship Program as a Marketing & Digital Content Trainee. She is studying Culture and Design Management and AI Concentration at Yonsei University, Underwood International College in South Korea.
Before joining Thrilld, Celeste gained hands-on experience in market analysis and product planning, mostly in China, and now she's excited to expand her horizons in the global Web3 space. Celeste loves working in diverse teams, and she's keen to contribute her skills to Thrilld Labs’ innovative projects.
We asked Celeste about her interests in Web3 technologies, AI, and her goals for the Traineeship.
What do you hope to learn through this Traineeship?
First and foremost, I want to dive deep into Web3—a transformative evolution of the internet. I’m motivated to learn about the business side of Web3, including market research, event planning, and developing strategies. I’m also excited to learn from the talented team at Thrilld Labs. I want to understand how a startup operates within the rapidly changing landscape. This includes learning about the integration of AI to enhance user experiences and the strategies for effective community engagement. Understanding how Thrilld Labs uses its platform to build synergies between stakeholders in Web3 to foster meaningful connections is a part of my interest.
Moreover, I hope to gain hands-on experience in project management and learn how to balance creativity with practical implementation. Thus, to develop my skills in UI/UX design by collaborating on real-world projects.
What motivated you to join Thrilld Labs?
I was drawn to Thrilld Labs because it aligns with my desire to work in an innovative, global environment with diverse perspectives. Thrilld Labs represents an exciting frontier in the Web3 space, where technology meets inclusive and ethical business practices. I have some background knowledge of Web3 but have never worked in this industry. I value the opportunities to step outside my comfort zone and embrace new challenges.
Additionally, the recommendation from my friend Kendall, who has thrived in this environment and gained hands-on experience, facilitated my decision. Her positive experiences and the dynamic, growth-oriented culture she described made me confident that Thrilld Labs is the ideal place to contribute and grow meaningfully.
How do you see the future of business in Web3?
Web3 to me is more focused on humans than technology. My vision of it is similar to many specialists in the industry in that it is a future where the power dynamics shift from the centralized few to the empowered many. It's about creating a more transparent, equitable, and inclusive space, like building a community/communities that are not just consumers but stakeholders. On the creativity side, artists can have full ownership of their work and be able to monetize it through NFTs and other tokens. It's like creating a more level playing field where innovation can thrive, regardless of where you're from or who you know.
While the potential is enormous, businesses in Web3 will also face challenges, such as missing regulations, security, and volatility associated with cryptocurrencies. Successful businesses should adapt to these challenges while maintaining their core values of transparency, equity, and inclusivity.
How do you see Web3 evolve in the future?
Web3 will have a higher and more mature level of participation in our future lives. We can expect a gradual shift from niche communities to broader public adoption. It will allow everyday users to engage with technologies and without in-depth technical knowledge. The tokenization of real-world assets will become increasingly prevalent, and new opportunities for investment, banking, and ownership will appear.
I also think the impact of Web3 will extend beyond the financial sector to other industries such as healthcare, supply chain management, and governance, as already shown by many investors and companies in these industries.
